Welcome to the Hernia Center of Connecticut.
We provide state-of-the-art, minimally invasive surgeries that deliver superior results.
AMI Hernia & Reflux Center of Connecticut provides expert surgical care in a comfortable, modern environment. Rather than the impersonal quality of a hospital, you will experience a level of care, expertise and service to help achieve a best-case outcome.
The Hernia Center is led by Dr. James Bonheur, a board-certified surgeon and fellow of the American College of Surgeons and International College of Surgeons. Our surgeons apply leading-edge techniques and technology to achieve subtle yet effective results.
Some of the many conditions treated at AMI Surgery include Acid Reflux and GERD, leg swelling, varicose veins, spider veins, hernias, and leg ulcers. The practice also specializes in weight loss surgery using techniques like sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, Lap-Band® gastric banding, and the Orbera® gastric balloon. These procedures offer hope to severely overweight or obese patients for whom conservative weight loss methods aren’t effective.
